Mediums

oils, oil bars, palette knives

I work only in oils via brush, oil bar or palette knife. I studied painting, art and art history in Florence, Italy.  During my time in Florence I found water colors maddening but admired the artwork done by others greatly. Eventually, like any artist, I started to discover which medium worked for me, which didn't, and which one I just had to accept that I'll always be a bit unhappy with in life.

Sometimes I'll use a knife, a bar, and brush all on one piece while other times I'll force myself only to use one technique. The above piece of the old mare I did only with brush while the Gran Prix piece and Missouri Breaks piece I did entirely with my finger and oil bars.
